Congratulations and best wishes to Robin Lake and Joshua Staub, both of the Rochester area, on their recent marriage on Oct. 5 in Pine Island, Minnesota. Robin is the daughter of Sharon and David Lake, and granddaughter of Leo Dahlberg.

Our sympathies to the family of Brandi (Kenneth) Hascall of Wright on the death of her brother, Nathan Ehrich, 40, of Cotton. He died on Oct. 8 in Cotton. A graveside service was held Monday at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Duluth.

Our sympathies again to the family of Brandi (Kenneth) Hascall of Wright on the recent death of her father, Allan Lee Ehrich, 73, of Tower. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

My husband Bob’s memorial service has been rescheduled for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, continuing at noon Saturday, Oct. 22 for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. My sincere thanks to everyone who has already sent cards, flowers and food. We are grateful for all these remembrances.

The Last Young Old Timers senior dance for the year will be on 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Cromwell Pavilion, with Jerry’s One Man Band.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Cromwell firehall. It’s a good time to dispose of your unused prescription drugs safely.

Bethany/Bethlehem confirmation news: There was a parent-student meeting with registration on Sunday for confirmation classes of seventh- and eighth-graders. All area students are welcome to attend these classes. Confirmation will be held on Sunday evenings via Zoom at 6:45 p.m., following the same format as last year with in-person classes once a month. If you missed the meeting, call the church for more information at 218-644-3640.

The Clothing Depot in Cromwell will be having a sweater and coat giveaway on Oct. 25, 27 and 29. The Depot is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chilloween is Friday, Oct. 28 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Sixth-grade and younger kids (must be accompanied by an adult) from 6-8 p.m. and seventh-grade and older kids from 8:30-10 p.m. There will be snacks, music, dancing, games, costume contests and face painting. New this year for the older kids will be bean bags. Bring your own already-carved jack-o-lantern to enter a contest. Volunteers and donations are needed to make this a fun, free event. The Caring Christmas program is now in full swing. They are taking referrals, and donation jars are out in the community. They also have raffle tickets at area businesses for purchase. The last day for referrals is Dec. 1, and the raffle will be drawn on Dec. 5. Call Pam at 218-357-2042 to donate or make a referral.
