Victoria G. Homstad, 61, of Kettle River died peacefully Thursday, Oct.13, 2022, in Duluth after fiercely fighting many medical challenges for more than 25 years with strength and grace.
She was born Nov. 7, 1960, in Minneapolis to Clarence and Goldie Oulman. In the sixth grade, she moved to Floodwood, where she went on to attend Floodwood High School. She graduated in 1978 as valedictorian of her class.
On April 25, 1980, Vicki married Tim Homstad in Duluth. They lived in Cromwell, Tamarack and Kettle River throughout the years. Vicki attended Brainerd Technical College and received a degree in medical transcription. She worked at the Human Development Center in Cloquet and at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. She proudly received a bachelor's degree in Christian ministry in 2005 from Crown College. Vicki liked horseback riding, reading, and music, including singing with her husband. She will always be remembered for being a friend to countless people and as hard-working, loyal, faithful and compassionate. Vicki loved her role as wife, mother and grandmother and cherished every moment with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Oulman; granddaughter Abigail Homstad; and brother David Oulman.
Vicki will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 1/2 years, Tim; sons Bryan, Michael (Stacey) and Troy; seven grandchildren, Hudson, Odin, Lucy, August, Jude, Casey and Addison; mother, Goldie Homstad; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a very special friend since sixth grade, Sue Mattfield.
Visitation was scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, from noon until the 1 p.m. service Friday, Oct. 21, all at Evangelical Covenant Church in Moose Lake. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
