It is important that all voters are registered to vote, and make sure you also vote for the best person you feel will fit that position. It is often the case that those who didn’t vote are the first to complain about the results. So, if you don’t vote, don’t complain about the results.

The second event is bingo at 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Kettle River Senior Center. The third event will be the tree lighting and vendor event at the Kettle River Veterans building. More details to come.

Recently, I was driving home in the rain in the evening and the car behind me did not have lights on. On another occasion, I was coming home in the fog. There was a gray car with no lights on trying to pass me. At the same time, there was a semi coming toward me with a car with no lights trying to pass. We both realized what could happen and slowed down, and the cars passed each other, barely making it without a head-on collision. The law is that headlights are to be on during inclement weather. This includes rain and fog.
The lights-on rule is for others to be able to see you. For everyone’s safety, turn your lights on in the rain, fog, storm, or even dusk. Remember, the life you save may be your own.
