Susanna Lee “Susie” Kettner Nikko, 67, passed away in Houston, Texas on Sept. 8, 2022. She was born in Washington D.C. to Arletta Rae and Jack Kettner on June 27, 1955. She grew up in Cloquet and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1973. In 1991, she moved with her family to Houston, where she worked as an office manager. Most people will remember her for her infectious smile and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Ellen Dagmar Hubbell, mother Arletta Rae Hubbell Kettner, father Jack Kettner, brother Anthony Preston “Prez” Kettner and nephew Chaz Elan Kettner.
Her husband of 33 years, Robert Gerald “Rudy” Brown, died on Oct. 17. She is survived by daughter Krista Stroh with grandchildren Sophia Elin and Liefie Rae; brother Michael Kettner; brother Edward (Angela) Kettner; brother Jack (Aida) Kettner Jr; sister-in-law Dixie Lee Kettner; stepdaughter Heather Brown-Peterson with grandson Landry; stepdaughter Jennifer (Dan) Brown Clouse; son Robert Brown with grandson Brendan Brown; son Bill (Katie) Brown with granddaughter
Sidney Lou and grandson Ethan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Celebration of Life for Susie and Rudy will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Third Base Bar in Carlton.
