Karee Pauline Rowell, 64, of Cromwell passed away tragically on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, in Bullhead City, Arizona while visiting her cousin, Trisha Wallin. Karee was born on Nov. 3, 1958, in Sandstone, Minnesota to Lincoln and Marilyn Hansen. Karee grew up in Cromwell and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1976. She married William "Bill" Rowell on Oct. 19, 1997.
Karee was the deputy city clerk for Otsego, Minnesota. She was the self-appointed president of the Social Butterfly and Drama Queen Club. You had to meet her just once to be considered one of her very best friends. Her smile and laugh were contagious. Being around Karee guaranteed a laugh and a good time.
Early on, Karee took her cousin Trish under her wing as she became an adult. Their connection lasted until the very end, where Karee and Trish passed together side by side.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2017; her parents; and brother Stuart.
Karee will be greatly missed by her brother Reece (Janet) Hansen; nieces and nephews, Mindy (Jer) Hoover, Mason (Stephanie) Hansen, Tara (Rachel) Hansen, and Tom (April) Hansen; great-nieces and great-nephews, Emmalee, Levi, Augustus, Hannah, Lincoln and Grady; many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles; stepdaughters, Carrie and Cindy Rowell, and their children and grandchildren; and countless friends near and far.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Jan. 14 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to a domestic abuse charity of your choice are encouraged. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.
