Don Roy Pearson passed away peacefully in Sahuarita, Arizona on June 4, 2023, at age 86. He was born in Cloquet in April 1937 to Roy and Tina Pearson, and grew up on their farm in the Chub Lake area. He graduated from Carlton High School in 1955 and worked for Conwed (now USG), Gamble Lumber and Brenny Dahl Block. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard and was an honorary retiree of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Don was a dedicated charter member of the Carlton Area Lions club formed in April 1972. He and his wife, Beverly, belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. After Don retired, he and Bev enjoyed five years of motorhome travels before purchasing their Rancho Resort home near Sahuarita in 2005. Don enjoyed volleyball games with his resort buddies and played ukulele with the group that performed for shut-ins and nursing homes. He and Bev became members of the Desert Hill Lutheran Church in nearby Green Valley, Arizona.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dale and Blaine Pearson of Carlton. He is survived by Beverly, his loving wife of 33 years; son, Scott Pearson, and his wife, Sandra Immerman, of St. Paul; sister, Gail Thornton of Moose Lake; and favorite cousin, Milan (Sandy) Huard of Duluth. He is also survived by Beverly's children, Kathy and Alan Strandlie, and their spouses and children.
