Carlton happenings

The Carlton Daze celebration was a wonderful event - even Mother Nature was on her best behavior.

Thank you to the Carlton Area Chamber, local businesses and volunteers for making the celebration a success. The 29th annual 5K had great weather for the 130 walkers and runners participating in the race.

I spent Saturday afternoon walking through the car show, visiting with friends and having lunch at one of the many food trucks. (This is a time when the diet goes out the window.)

Sunday's parade was great. The businesses, local groups and the floats were fun to see, especially The Green House from Carlton. I have heard a rumor that the Carlton parade is known as the "candy parade." I am sure that is true because my great-grandkids, Lucy, Axton and Inara, had enough candy to last for at least a couple months, maybe longer. If you did not get a chance to enjoy this year's Carlton Daze, mark your calendar for next year: July 26-28. See you then.
