Gerald Joseph Solnitzky, 76, of Wright died Aug. 21, 2023, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born July 24, 1947, in St. Paul to Joseph and Lillian (Marose) Solnitzky. He graduated in 1965 from Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville. Gerald was married to LaDonna (Posterick) on June 10, 1989, in White Bear Lake. He worked in construction, most recently for Julian Johnson Construction of Anoka, retiring in 2012.
He enjoyed playing cribbage, woodworking, the Minnesota Twins, fishing and being at his lake home. Gerald also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was a retired member of the JFDs motorcycle group.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian, and daughter-in-law, Brett Campos.
Gerald is survived by his wife, LaDonna Solnitzky of Wright; daughters, Wendy (Sara George) Solnitzky of Minneapolis and Ann (Sean) Silver of St. Michael; grandchildren, Anthony and Abby Silver; brother, David (Linda) Solnitzky of Little Canada; nephews, Cory and Troy Solnitzky; and many other special friends and relatives who mourn his passing.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Gerald’s life will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at McGregor Funeral Home & Cremation Services of McGregor. Lunch and fellowship will follow at the Fireside Inn in McGregor. Visit http://www.srtfuneral.com to leave a message of condolence.
