Don’t miss the low-cost pet microchip and vaccine clinic for Cloquet and Carlton County residents from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 near the picnic shelter at Veterans Park in Cloquet. Previous clinics have included free microchips for up to three pets, and $15 vaccinations for rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella. Nail trims are $10. With no animal shelter in Carlton County, local authorities share in the cost of the clinic because pets that are microchipped are far more likely to be reunited with their owners quickly than those who aren’t. People must register to receive services in advance or at the clinic. There will also be adoptable dogs and “dog and human swag.” Microchip is $20 for nonresidents or $5 for veterans with ID.
