The weather has been so nice that my son mowed the lawn today. The grass had gotten long, and it sure looks much better now. I don’t think we have ever mowed the lawn this late in November.

A few days ago I couldn’t find my cell phone and I knew it was on silent, so even if I tried to call it from the landline, I knew I wouldn’t find it. So I called my son in California and asked him where it was. He has an app on his phone for finding where I am and was able to tell me the phone was in the kitchen. There it was, in my purse under a few papers. Thank goodness for technology.

Sympathies to the family of Stanley Davis, 88, who died on Nov. 11 in Moose Lake. There will be a Celebration of Life for him at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at the Cromwell Pavilion.

Pastor Tim Ehling will be leading worship at Bethlehem (8 a.m.) and Bethany (9:30 a.m.) on the first and third Sundays of the month. He is serving six churches: Trinity in Bruno, Bethany in Cromwell, Emmanuel in Dell Grove, Oak Lake in Kerrick, Grace in Sandstone and Bethlehem in Wright.

I finished my last radiation treatment at St. Luke’s on Nov. 13, but it didn’t quite go as planned. As I was lying on the table, the machine malfunctioned and the experts had to reset the hundreds of settings to get it going again. It took about 45 minutes, but I was back in business. I am so thankful for all the medical people at St. Luke’s and will miss them, but also grateful to have the 33 treatments done with. It’s been a long road I’ve been on, starting back in April, but now I can look forward to regaining my strength and stamina. Thanks again for all the prayers, cards, gifts, and good wishes. You have truly made this journey bearable.

That’s all the news from the Edge of Wright.
