Myrna Loy (O'Geay) Suvanto, 85, of Cloquet passed away peacefully at Park River Estates Care Center in Coon Rapids on Nov. 17, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 15, 1938, in Duluth. She met the love of her life, Ervin Willard Suvanto, when she was 14, and they married on Oct. 19, 1957. Myrna graduated from Central High School in 1956 and was third in her class. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She provided foster care for several years and took care of many children during that time. She ran Myrna's Ceramics, which she taught out of her house. She enjoyed baking, reading, knitting, crocheting, ceramics and collecting dolls. She loved playing with her great-grandson Weston. Myrna met many people over the years, and everyone loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters; her son, baby Ervin; and her grandson Justin. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ervin; her two daughters, Wendy (Jim) and Paula (Mark); grandchildren Becca (Adam), Aaron (Stephanie), Colton, and Donovan (Hannah); and great-grandchildren Weston (parents Becca and Adam), McKenna (parent Colton), and August (parents Donovan and Hannah).
The family would like to send a special thank-you to all the staff at Park River Estates and Sunnyside Health Care Center for their support and the special care given to Myrna.
A celebration of life for Myrna will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
