Cloquet-Esko-Carlton eighth-grader Anders Erickson crosses the finish line in 17th place for the boys junior high race.

The Cloquet Nordic Invitational meet was not held in Cloquet on Jan. 4, thanks to a severe lack of snow.

Instead, the entire meet was moved to the Grand Avenue Nordic Center at the base of Duluth's Spirit Mountain, where they can make artificial snow.
