The Minnesota primary is March 5, so ballots need to arrive at the courthouse before that date. Remember, you can’t split your vote, and you need a witness to sign your ballot. Eagle Township residents can vote 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on March 5 at the Sno-Gophers club building in Cromwell. Lakeside Township votes 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the firehall in Wright. Beseman and Red Clover vote by mail-in ballot.
Congratulations to Emaleigh Olesiak and Tanner Collman, who were awarded the AAA Award for Section 7A. Tanner was a finalist and Emaleigh is the champion. Emaleigh was honored on Feb. 28 at Amsoil Arena in Duluth for her award. The award goes to seniors who excel in academics, athletics and the fine arts.
Our sympathies to the family of Shirley Pettit Hanson, 78, who passed away Feb. 24 at her home in Cloquet. Visitation is 5:30 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. memorial service Sunday, March 3 at Nelson Funeral Care. See Page 13 for the full obituary.
I got to visit Aurelia at Carefree Living in McGregor. She sure was happy to see me, as I’m sure most residents in care facilities look forward to visitors.
We were sorry to see that Florian Chmielewski wasn’t able to play at the last YOT Dance, but his replacements did a fine job. The next YOT Senior Dance will be on March 28.
The City of Cromwell is holding a public hearing to discuss the renovations to the Cromwell Park Pavilion at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 in the pavilion. Lenten services will be held March 6 and March 20 at Bethlehem, and on March 13 and March 27 at Bethany. Soup supper begins at 5:30 p.m., and worship is at 6:30 p.m.
Yoga is at 11 a.m. Mondays at Cromwell Park Pavilion.
Don’t forget, there is cribbage at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the Wright Senior Center. It’s always a good time.
The Depot’s free coat and sweater giveaway ends on March 2. Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
There may still be time to get your quilt squares done for the quilt at the Villa Vista-Cardinal Court. I hear that the unveiling will be on Mothers Day.
Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday, March 10.
There sure was a great article in the Feb. 23 issue of Pine Knot about future plans for Wright, the city hall and improvements to the park and the Big Top.
