Marc Allen Jacob Owen Raihala, 93, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was born December 13, 1930 to M.W. "Bill" Raihala and Lillian (Isojoki) Raihala of Floodwood. He married Marion Delores Lahti on May 24, 1952 and together they ran a successful tax service business for more than 40 years.
Marc served in the Korean War and remained active in Cloquet's VFW Post 3979 for five decades, serving in numerous positions including Honor Guard. He served on the Cloquet Parks Commission and Cloquet City Council and was also a two-term Carlton County Commissioner. An avid hunter, Marc also enjoyed reading, classic cars and gardening, roses in particular.
Marc was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marion, son Bret Allen, daughter Roxann Kay, grandson Maxfield Nelson (Miranda), brother William Henry Raihala and sisters Lillian Elizabeth Kantola, Marion Aileen Raihala, Ida Marcella Bukstein and Rebecca Jane Trask. He is survived by daughter Dr. Carmel Raihala (Dr. Todd Lenhard), Green Bay; son Ross Raihala, St. Paul (Patric Richardson); great grandsons Benjamin, Skylar and Kaeden; great granddaughter Reagan and sister-in-law Nancy Raihala.
Visitation at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, followed by service and lunch at 11 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet.
