Carlton happenings

Happy St. Urho’s Day, March 16, to everyone of Finnish heritage. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, to everyone of Irish heritage.

As the days get warmer and daylight lasts a little longer every day, many people begin to plan for summer activities. That also means the rummage and garage sale season is just around the corner. So, start cleaning out the attic, closets, basements and garages (I need to take my own advice, LOL) and donate to our local fundraisers held at the Four Seasons Complex.

The first sale will be for the Carlton Hockey Association, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. April 11-13. Donations can be dropped off 4-7 p.m. April 9-10; call Dani at 218-590-1569 or Leola at 218-310-6065. The next sale at Four Seasons will be held by the Community Memorial Hospital Volunteer Services Organization, 3-7 p.m. May 15, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. May 16, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 17. Contact Linda Newlon at 218-879-6274 to donate items for the sale. The third rummage sale will be August 8-10 with spaces available for a fee to the Robert Rodd scholarship fund. Contact Leola at 218-310-6065 for more information.
