Last Saturday I attended “Die Laughing,” presented by comedian Brett Hollis at the Cromwell Pavilion. If you missed it, you can find his YouTube videos online.
The next YOT dance will be held 1-4 p.m. March 28 at the Cromwell Pavilion, with music by Jerry and Joyce.
Yoga will continue at 11 at the Pavillion Mondays in March.
Kindergarten roundup is 8:45-10 a.m. Friday, March 22. All children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 and their parents/guardians, are invited to come and hear all about our Cromwell-Wright kindergarten program. Spring is almost here, so it’s time to start planning for Wrong Days in Wright to be held July 19-21. We have a lot of ideas for activities for all ages, but need some help to implement them. We’re looking for groups that are fundraising or individuals willing to volunteer to help us with kids’ games, relay races, ticket selling at the event, setup, cleanup, and more. With your help, we can make the 59th annual Wrong Days in Wright the best yet. Ham bingo, sponsored by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Cromwell Pavillion. Cost is $10 for 20 games, and there will be raffle drawings, free popcorn, and lunch by freewill offering. It’s sponsored by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. All are welcome.
The father-daughter dance is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Come for food, dancing and fun. All ages welcome. No need to pre-register this year. $20 per couple at the door and $5 for each additional daughter. Sponsored by the Cromwell Area Community Club. Contact Jackie at 218-838-6275 with questions.
The annual Cromwell-Wright fourth-grade food drive for the Tri-Community Food Shelf is on. Donations of nonperishable food or cash can be left at the school or given to any student. Deadline is March 21. Let’s all support them in their efforts to raise $2,000 this year.
Palm Sunday worship for Bethlehem and Bethany is at the regular times of 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., March 24. Join the residents at the Villa Vista for their Good Friday service at 9 a.m. on March 29. Easter is March 31; there will be an 8 a.m. joint service at Bethany.
Cloquet Community Education is sponsoring a trip to the Plymouth Playhouse in the Twin Cities April 24 to see “‘Til Beth Do Us Part.” The cost is $92, and the coach bus will leave from the Super One back parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Also included is a buffet lunch at the Green Mill Restaurant. Reservations need to be made by April 10, and checks should be made out to Cloquet Community Ed, 2001 Washington Ave., Cloquet MN 55720. The Lake Country Power district meetings will start in April. The District 8 meeting will be at 5 p.m. April 4 at the Cromwell Pavilion. There will be a light supper, district updates and door prizes.
