Betty Lou Milberger, the daughter of Tina Wilhelimina (Salo) and Emil Joseph Plante was born on Oct. 20, 1930, in Cloquet. After high school, she worked at Diamond Match until she married Robert D. Milberger on Oct. 3, 1953.
Betty was a housewife as she and Robert had eight children together. For 50 years she helped Robert sell Teeny Weeny Donuts, going from fair to fair in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Betty always enjoyed talking with the many customers and concession stand owners.
Betty enjoyed the numerous sporting events her children were involved in, along with traveling, sewing, reading, and watching TV, and she was always up for a good game of Skip-Bo.
In their later years, Betty and Robert enjoyed traveling from coast to coast in their motorhome and spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona where they met many new friends and spent time with family.
Betty is survived by four sons, Scot (Peggy), Bret (Deb), Todd (Sharon) and Jay (Ruth); two daughters, Pam, and Julie; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce (Sandy); and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Emil and Tina Plante; son, Mark Milberger; daughter, Beth Heide; grandson, Matthew Milberger; three brothers, Howard, Kenneth, and Alfred Plante; and two sisters, Evelyn and Mary Plante.
