Wright/Cromwell news

Our sympathies to the family of Judith (Anderson) Miller, who passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, in Cromwell. She was 104 years old. Judy was well-known for her mastery of the organ and piano. Music was an important part of her life. She became the organist for First Lutheran Church in Meadowlands at age 14 in 1934, and continued playing for 74 years. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date at First Lutheran, where she was a lifetime member. Atkins Northland Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Gary Larson, 80, on Saturday, May 11 at his home in Cromwell. More details to follow.

Congrats to Emaleigh Olesiak for breaking the school track record in the 3200 meters on Tuesday at the Bemidji State University meet. Emaleigh ran 11:53.96, breaking a 21-year-old record. Great job, Em.

On behalf of the Cromwell-Wright fourth-graders, thank you to all who donated to the Tri-Community Food shelf fundraiser; $1,779 was collected, as well as 198 pounds of food. Your generosity will help many families.

As most of you know, your state and federal taxes need to be filed by April 15, unless you file for an extension. Ironically, the last three letters in the word “theirs” are I-R-S.

The Arrowhead Library System Bookmobile will be in Cromwell 12:30-1 p.m. April 16 at the city park.

That’s all the news from the Edge of Wright. Have a great week.
