This year’s Carlton Community Cleanup is May 17. Students from the high school will be out raking, picking up garbage and piling up branches across the city and Hillside Cemetery. If you need to have your yard cleaned, contact Leola Rodd at 218-310-6065. You must live within the city limits to receive this service.

This past fall, Inter-Faith Care Center volunteer and friend Cecelia Anderson was named Volunteer of the Year by the Minnesota Statewide Activity Professionals. There are 600 activities directors in the state of Minnesota. She also received the Volunteer of the Year award from Care Providers of Minnesota. Congratulations, Cecelia.

A rummage, antique, collectibles, junk and crafts sale takes place May 10-11 at Four Seasons Complex.

Community Memorial Hospital Volunteer Services Organization rummage sale runs 3-7 p.m. May 15, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 16 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17. Contact Linda Newlon, 879-6274, for more information.

Lions Burger Night is 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 17 at the Carlton VFW.

A blood drive takes place 12-6 p.m. Monday, May 20, Carlton VFW parking lot, 124 Chestnut Ave. Contact Cecelia, 218-393-0589, to register or for more information.

Carlton High School graduation is May 24 at the high school.

The Carlton VFW has a benefit for John Keith 12-5 p.m. May 5.

The Carlton Area Lions Club meets 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Carlton VFW. Dinner is served. Contact Betsy Anderson at 218-255-5457 for more.
