Obituary: Nicole Pfisthner

Nicole Marie Pfisthner passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51 on April 22, 2024, at her home in Carlton. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and will be deeply missed.

She was born June 17, 1972, to Jerry and Annarose (Bookin) Dion in Cloquet. She was raised in Cloquet along with her two siblings and was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. During her childhood she enjoyed being a part of danceline groups.

Nicole graduated from Cloquet High School in 1990 and later attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She married Chris Pfisthner in 1998 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Together they were blessed with two sons, Wyatt and Nicholas. They moved to Arizona in 1999. Nicole continued her education and received her bachelor's degree in accounting.

Nicole and Chris eventually parted ways but remained good friends. Nicole moved back to Cloquet in the early 2000s and worked in accounting for the Fond du Lac construction company. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a pool league. Nicole enjoyed golfing, and playing bingo, cards and pool. She especially loved spending time with her sons and friends.

Nicole is survived by her children, Wyatt Pfisthner and Nicholas Pfisthner, both of Poplar, Wisconsin; parents, Jerry and Annarose Dion of Cloquet; sister, Kristine Tindell of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Howard (Betsy) Dion of Trent, South Dakota; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kayla and Trevor; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marianne Golen, Howard Dion, William Bookin and Stella Berkey.
