Eleanore Agnes Ehmann, age 102, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at her home. She was born on August 14, 1921, in Cloquet, Minnesota to Alexander and Mabel (Brunette) Laveau. Eleanore moved to Cromwell, Minnesota at the age of five and graduated from Cromwell High School. The family then returned to Cloquet. Eleanore was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she served on one of many Circles. She was employed at Walmart as a greeter for 19 years. Eleanore cherished every spontaneous visit from all family and friends. In her free time, Eleanore loved to play Yahtzee. She will truly be missed.
Eleanore is survived by her children, Allen (Terry) Chartier, Linda (Sid) Woodward, and Jeryl (Jerry) Fink; daughter-in-law, Nancy Chartier; grandchildren, Jared (Christie) Chartier, Brad (Stacy) Chartier, Shelley (Brad) Anderson, Nick Monahan, Jason (Katy) Chartier, Jeff Chartier, Jeremy (Amber) Chartier, Brandon Pederson, Robin Marine, Jennifer (Joel) Soukkala, Julie (Rob) Schmidt, and Jason Merrill; great grandchildren, Cody, Kyler, Caden, Ryan, Austin, Troy, Laura, Blake, Ryder, Gracie, Ella, Blair, Halie, Emily, Kendall, MaKayla, Kate, Jordyn, Allison, Annabelle, Lauren, Jackson, Ryan, Dominic, Alex, Jacob, Maxwell, Jackson, Brayden, and Brandon; sister, Lorraine Wappes; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Chartier and Harold Ehmann; son, John Chartier; and brothers, Gerald, Alex, and Lyle Laveau.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, from 2–4 p.m. with a Rosary at 4 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Visitation will continue Monday, May 13, 2024, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet. A luncheon will be held in the church social hall.
