Carl Raymond Jensen, 87, of Carlton passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. He was born July 3, 1936, in Askov to Raymond and June Jensen. Carl was the second of six children in his family.
Carl graduated from Askov High School and went to work at Elliott’s Meats. He also worked part-time at Frank’s Market, was a mail carrier, and taught at Northeast Regional Corrections Center.
Carl and his seven children enjoyed having horses and going to horse shows. This was one of his happiest times. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage, and running a petting zoo for his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Janice Roby; daughter Vickie Anderson; and granddaughter Cassie Brown. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jeanne (Hanson); children Danette (Darrin) Edwards, Mike (Stephaine) Jensen, Mark (Kami) Jensen, Patrick (CarolAnn) Jensen, Laura (Paul) Harney, and Nancy (Mark) Vermilyea; sisters Joyce Fey and Arlene (Duane) Anderson; brothers, Jerry (Ollie) Jensen and Larry (Evelyn) Jensen; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at Atkins Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
