Eleanore Agnes Ehmann, 102, passed away peacefully May 7, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on Aug. 14, 1921, in Cloquet to Alexander and Mabel (Brunette) Laveau. Eleanore moved to Cromwell at the age of 5, and graduated from Cromwell High School. The family then returned to Cloquet. Eleanore was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she served on one of many Circles. She was employed at Walmart as a greeter for 19 years. Eleanore cherished every spontaneous visit from all family and friends. In her free time, Eleanore loved to play Yahtzee. She will truly be missed.
Eleanore is survived by her children Allen (Terry) Chartier, Linda (Sid) Woodward, and Jeryl (Jerry) Fink; daughter-in-law, Nancy Chartier; grandchildren, Jared (Christie) Chartier, Brad (Stacy) Chartier, Shelley (Brad) Anderson, Nick Monahan, Jason (Katy) Chartier, Jeff Chartier, Jeremy (Amber) Chartier, Brandon Pederson, Robin Marine, Jennifer (Joel) Soukkala, Julie (Rob) Schmidt, and Jason Merrill; great grandchildren, Cody, Kyler, Caden, Ryan, Austin, Troy, Laura, Blake, Ryder, Gracie, Ella, Blair, Halie, Emily, Kendall, MaKayla, Kate, Jordyn, Allison, Annabelle, Lauren, Jackson, Ryan, Dominic, Alex, Jacob, Maxwell, Jackson, Brayden and Brandon; sister, Lorraine Wappes; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Chartier and Harold Ehmann; son John Chartier; and brothers, Gerald, Alex and Lyle Laveau.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 13 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with interment in New Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care.
