Board members at its May 15 CAFD meeting voted to accept a $650 donation from Northwoods Credit Union. The funds are earmarked for the district’s community risk reduction programs, which include home safety visits and smoke and carbon monoxide alarm installation. That program also received a donation of batteries for smoke alarms from L&M Fleet Supply. To schedule a home safety visit, call the fire district at (218) 499-4258 or visit http://www.cloquetareafiredistrict.com/outreach/community/home-safety-visits.
The CAFD board also voted to reschedule the next regular board meeting to at 6 p.m. June 26 at the Carlton County Community Services building. Though such meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month, June’s meeting had to be moved so it wouldn’t fall on the Juneteenth federal holiday, a commemoration of the end of slavery.
