Wright/Cromwell news

The Cromwell community thanks Terry and Peggy Olson and family for putting up all the American flags on veteran graves for Memorial Day. Remembering our veterans with flags is a great tradition.

Several area folks motored to Pine River on June 8 to celebrate Ryanne Schultz’s graduation from high school and college. Ryanne got a two-year community college degree along with her high school diploma, all while working part time in her junior and senior years. Way to go, girl!

I was surprised and thrilled when I went to the Area Clothing Depot June 6 and found someone had left a Katharine Dahlman painting for me there. I had asked the folks to please save any of my mom’s paintings that might come in to the Depot, and, voilà, here was a large spring scene for me to pick up. It felt like a message from my mom, since it was the 106th anniversary of her birth just the day before. She’s been gone now for 20 years, and now I have another reminder that she’s still in my heart and my life, thanks to this anonymous donor.

As the Area Clothing Depot is closing soon, clothing will be on sale for $4 a bag June 20-22, and pants will be $2 per bag on June 27. Donations are limited now.
