Our beautiful and amazing daughter, Stephanie Rose Weller, left us to be with Jesus on June 30, 2024. Stephanie was born in Duluth at St. Luke's Hospital on May 2, 1994, to her proud and loving parents, George and Lisa Weller. She resided in Superior, Wisconsin with Shane Herrick and her 2-year-old son, Beau Herrick, whom she adored.
Stephanie was a graduate of Denfeld High School's class of 2012. In her senior year, she qualified to attend an art school in Italy, and saw much of Europe; she had friends from all over the world. She participated in various sports in her youth, including basketball, softball and track. She was a dedicated Girl Scout, earning a Silver Award. She graduated from Lake Superior College in 2014 with an associate degree of arts degree. She was employed as a server at Va Bene Caffe, loved her work, and was loved by her co-workers and patrons.
Stephanie was an old soul and wise beyond her years. She was very creative and enjoyed various art genres. While attending college, she worked for Kids Create Art Studio, sharing her passion for art with children. She hand-made special gifts for friends and family for special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas. She was a believer in Jesus and was baptized in Lake Superior in 2010. She was a sister to her three brothers, Alex, Syler and Aiden, and she loved them very much. She was an impressive mommy, making sure to provide an exceptional childhood for Beau. She loved animals, and fostered many. She particularly loved her pet rats. Stephanie was always well-intentioned, and was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She loved sunrises and sunsets, and was returning home from watching the sunrise at Pattison Park when she was involved in a car accident that changed many, many lives forever. We know she would wish for us to carry on with our lives and not grieve forever, and to be the very best people that we can be. She surely was.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Raymond Ouellette; her pet rats, most notably Freddy and Sprout; and her family dog, Bandit. She is survived by her son, Beau Herrick; her father, George Weller; mother, Lisa Weller; brothers, Alex Weller, Syler Weller and Aiden Weller; a niece, Luna Weller; her grandmother Barbara Ouellette; and special friends, Ashley Birdseye, Carley Eastman and Shane Herrick. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and hundreds of people who knew and loved her beautiful spirit.
A Celebration of Love and Life for Stephane will be held July 12 at the Kitchi Gammi Club, 831 E. Superior St. in Duluth. Visitation: 4:30 p.m. in the West Lounge, until the 6 p.m. service in the Great Hall. A reception will follow, 7-8 p.m., in the West Lounge. Stephanie's wish was to be cremated. Her remains will be interred at Sunrise Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
