Larry Charles Isaacson, 90, a lifelong resident of Cloquet, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born Nov. 13, 1933, to Charles and Laila (Seppanen) Isaacson. He graduated from Cloquet High School and shortly after began work at Wood Conversions, which later became Conwed. Larry retired as the company transitioned to USG.
He was married to Betty Mattson on July 28, 1956. The couple enjoyed many years of going out dancing on Saturday nights.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling, participating in leagues for years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; son, Kevin Isaacson; sister, Verna Dzick; and brother, James Isaacson. He is survived by his children, Steve (Mary) Isaacson, Craig Isaacson, Tim (Diane) Isaacson, Rusty Isaacson, and Tami (Bruce) Matuszak; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Delores Daugaard; and many other extended family members and friends.
Services for Larry were held on Thursday, July 25, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Inurnment will be at the Eagle Lake Cemetery in Cromwell. Arrangements are by Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
