Wright/Cromwell news

There were many happy returns for Ann Heikkila, who celebrated her 90th birthday on July 24. She also celebrated on July 28 at church, with a special birthday cake and fancy place setting in her honor, with several area folks there. She got calls from Finland, Alaska, New York, Oregon, Colonial Williamsburg, Florida, Colorado, Cloquet, Duluth, Thunder Bay and Wisconsin. There were lots of cards. Special friends dropped off a small cake, and she had wine with dinner at Bann’s on Lake Minnewawa. “Wow. The 90th was very special day, July 24,” Ann said. “Now it comes one day at a time. I’m blessed and living by God’s grace.”

Sympathies to the family of Fallon Dahl, who passed away July 25. She was a wonderful little girl who brought so much joy to her family and friends. She was diagnosed with a rare form of brain tumor. May she rest in peace from all the pain and suffering she endured.

Wannisa Lynn Aho, 42, of Wright passed away peacefully at home on July 19. A memorial gathering will be held at noon Aug. 23 with a service at 2 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Community Center.
