The Cromwell Harvest Festival is back next weekend, offering three days of family friendly fun at the Pavilion Friday through Sunday, Sept. 6-8.
But first things first: scarecrows must be decorated this weekend because judging starts at 6 p.m. Monday, the same day the medallion hunt kicks off. Then there's time to settle back into school before the fun really kicks off Friday with a steak fry 4-7 p.m. at the pavilion and a home football game at the high school.
Saturday is the big day, starting with with a pancake breakfast or the Alzheimer's walk, followed by a pet immunication clinic (for a small fee) and craft and food vendors most of the day. Look for kids' games. The 11 a.m. candy toss event features grand marshals Kenny and Sue Koivisto. Other fun events include a youth and an adult bean bag tournament, a chicken poopin' contest, a pie social, volleyball tournament, music and beer in the park, cornhole, a beer garden, live music and cash bingo. On Sunday there's community worship at 9 a.m. and the Riverside Drifters fun and games horse show at noon. There are also activities at the muni all weekend.
