Wright/Cromwell news

Cromwell-Wright started the new school year Sept. 3, with several changes to the school, parking lot and security issues. There will be a special ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at the school, and tours of the renovated building from 5 p.m. to 6:20 p.m., right before the home football game. Stop in and take part in all the excitement.

The Harvest Fest starts with the steak fry Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday events include the pancake breakfast 8:30-10:30 a.m., crafts and vendors 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., pie social 11 a.m. to 2.p.m., bingo at 5 p.m. in the pavilion, music in the park 1-4 p.m., and music at the Muni from 5 p.m. to midnight. Other Saturday activities include kids’ games and a kiddie parade, volleyball, bean bag tournaments, and the car show. Community worship is at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Pavilion, and the horse show starts at noon. See posters for details of these events. Volunteers are still needed, so please show up and ask if there is anything you can help with.

FYI regarding old Cromwell yearbooks: I will be setting up a table at the Harvest Fest steak fry on the 6th and again on the 7th with many of my duplicate yearbooks that anyone can get if they want them. Donations will be accepted.

Here’s an idea for you to try with your school kids. Instead of asking, “What did you do in school today?” Ask, “Who did you help today? You may be surprised at their answers, and it reminds our kids to be kind and helpful to others. That works for adults as well.

That’s all the news from the Edge of Wright.
