Lois Luann Johnson, 92, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2024, surrounded by her family at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born to Oscar and Rose (St. Germain) Larson on July 31, 1932, and was a lifelong resident of Carlton.
Lois attended Carlton schools and graduated from Carlton High School. She was confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church.
She raised her children in Carlton, enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren.
Lois retired from Stearns Manufacturing, maker of marine products. She was a seamstress making life jackets.
Lois enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was known for her famous cinnamon rolls and was always asked for her recipe. Lois and her family enjoyed traveling throughout Minnesota camping and fishing.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Sherm Maunu and Bob Johnson; sons, Dale Davis and Jay Davis; sisters, Lucille LaGrow, Ione Sanders, and Elaine Southworth. Lois is survived by her children, Christine (Melvin) Peterson and Neil Davis; grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Peterson, Tony (Adrienne) Peterson, Jody (Jeff) Lelm, Jessie Fowler, Michelle (Justin) Purdee, James (Christine) Davis, Kelly (Troy) Verdoorn and Melissa Davis; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn (Gerald "Yogi") Pera; daughters-in-law, Karen, Diane, and Sharon Davis; special nieces, Sherry and Ginger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held 1-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
