Obituary: Sharon Lynn (Lowell) Sell

Sharon Lynn (Lowell) Sell, 78, of Carlton passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Aspirus-St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born March 7, 1946, to Martin and Shirley (Rodd) Lowell in Gary, Indiana.

She grew up in the Cloquet area and graduated from Esko High School in 1964.

In December of 1973, Sharon married Frank Sell, and the two were blessed with almost 30 years together. They filled these years with memories of hunting, fishing, traveling, and raising their family.

Sharon worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital and Nopeming Sanatorium, and eventually retired from her position with St. Louis County in 2004. Aside from her career, Sharon enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, and reading.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents; sister Sandy; and brother Mark. She will be remembered by her children, Gene (Becca) Dianoski, Michelle Ahistus, Jen (John) Isaacson, and Pat (Jen) Sell; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Marty (Judy) Lowell and Mike Lowell; sister Linda Lowell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Oct. 12 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Inurnment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cloquet.
