Haunted Shack opens tonight

The Haunted Shack between Carlton and Wrenshall is back for its 31st season, opening tonight, Oct. 11, at 7. Crews have been transforming the working farm into the Haunted Ridge the past two months. Logan Stojevich, co-director of the attraction and technical director said there are new structures along an extended haunted hayride designed for a "more terrifying experience." A "swamp scene" has also been added.

Pat Stojevich, Logan's father and the founder of the Haunted Shack said "this was the season we needed to do a much new update to the four venues we offer."

"The Shack," as it's been called since its inception, also offers outdoor horrors, including the Haunted Hayride, Trail of Terror through the Corn and the Fence Maze of Horror.

In the daytime you can enjoy the largest corn maze in the northland - over 8 acres - at RuRidge, plus a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, hayrides, as well as other kids and adult activities.

The address is 1781 County Road 1 in Carlton. The Haunted Shack runs 7-10 p.m. (Thursdays and Sundays it goes to 9 p.m.) Oct. 11-13, Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26. Entry is $20. A tamed down version for younger children cost $15 and runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19.
