Letter to the Editor: Where's our representative?

Help. We’re looking for U.S. Rep. Pete Stauber from Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District, last seen heading to Washington D.C. on the road he calls “our way of life.” Unfortunately, Pete Stauber has lost his direction representing the people of his district. Bringing important benefits to his district has been pretty hard for him because he likes to vote “no” to important legislation for his constituents.

“No” to the Honoring Our PACT Act, the largest healthcare expansion bill in decades for veterans suffering from toxic burn pit exposure.

“No” to the Affordable Insulin Now Act, to end price-gouging of American diabetic patients paying more than $250 for insulin manufactured to a cost of less than $5.

“No” to the Women’s Health Protection Act, allowing women, not the

government, to make healthcare decisions.

“No” to the Chips and Science Act, to “re-shore” microchip production for important jobs by building “Made In America” consumer goods.

“No” to the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, bringing Minnesota approximately $4.8 billion over five years in federal highway formula funding for highways and bridges. This included projects he claimed credit for, like the $9.4 million for upgrades to 29 district airports and the huge $1 billion Blatnik Bridge restoration.

If you see Rep. Stauber tell him his constituents have been waiting six years for his help. He was invited to defend his work performance at several regional debates but again he said “no,” apparently reluctant to face his constituents.

Please support Jen Schultz with your vote. She’ll say “yes” to accomplishing important work for the people of CD-8.
