Downtown Carlton was bustling Saturday with a wild and wonderful array of monsters, witches, chickens, rock stars, critters, cartoon characters, superheroes and more than one girl named Wednesday. Businesses, organizations and a Care Bears friend group lined the sidewalks along Chestnut Street handing out candy to what felt like more than a thousand kids and their parents, there to trick or treat in broad daylight.
Five-year-old Rowan (pictured below) and his mother AnnaMay Frazier spun up one of the most creative costumes on the four-block stretch. Rowan was dressed as a tornado - his idea, but Mom brought it to life - complete with tiny bicycles, cows, cars, clouds and even a chicken caught up in the funnel-shaped cloud.
Meanwhile other trick or treaters enjoyed adopting new identities, including one very delighted butterfly Macie Odella (left) holding up her hand up to show she is 4 years old as she perches on her dad's shoulders during Saturday's extravaganza.
Organized by the Carlton Chamber of Commerce, this year's event also featured various juggling acts, including the Evans family, who rode up and down the street on unicycles while juggling in costume. Pictured bottom left, Bob Evans helps a tiny Elvis, aka Axel Sobczak, age 3 ½, spin a plate while standing on one leg.
