Veterans Day dinners, 'Women in WWII' presentation

There's plenty going on across Carlton County to honor our veterans on Monday, Nov. 11, including a presentation at the Cloquet Public Library that has not been publicized enough. Find out more below:

Women in World War II: Virginia Wright Peterson will give a presentation about her book, “A Women’s War Too,” at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Cloquet Public Library. The library is closed but doors will be opened for this event only.

The Villa Vista in Cromwell invites all veterans and families to their Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11. Come and hear the stories of local veterans and show your appreciation.

The Cromwell-Wright School invites all veterans and community to the annual Veterans Day program at the school, starting at 1 p.m. Monday.

All veterans are invited to enjoy a free drive-thru Veterans Day dinner courtesy of the Cloquet American Legion and Cloquet VFW auxiliaries. Pick up a meal in the back parking lot of the Cloquet VFW between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11. The meals are free for veterans and $15 for non-veterans.

Carlton VFW Post 2962 will hold a free Veterans Day sit-down dinner starting with a 5 p.m. program, with dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11 at 124 Chestnut Ave. in Carlton. All veterans eat for free. Guests pay $14, or $8 for ages 12 and younger.
