Jeffry Dennis Bergin “walked on” Nov. 2, 2024 at his home in Minneapolis. Jeffry was born July 6, 1948 in Duluth, Minnesota to John and Sue (Vincent) Bergin. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1966. His strong suit was the theatre, and in the senior play that year he portrayed phonetics professor Henry Higgins in “Pygmalion.” He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1972, summa cum laude, with a degree in English.
Jeffry was ever the Renaissance Man. His creativity bloomed throughout his life; writing personal musings and poetry, and painting and sketching continued to possess him to his last days.
Jeffry initially worked for US West, but later took other positions along his life’s journey: transcriptionist, flower delivery man, bookstore employee, flower gardener, and, most importantly, greeting card creator. He was a proud cat owner, two acquired and one interloper.
Jeffy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sue (Vincent) Bergin.
Jeffry is survived by his brothers, Jon (Marge) Bergin of Lake City, Minnesota, and Tim (Ann) Bergin of East Gull Lake, Minnesota; nieces, Elizabeth (Bergin) Diers and Jenna (Bergin) Ude; and nephews, Patrick Bergin and Ryan Foss.
Jeff is also survived by his many friends and neighbors whom he loved unconditionally. A private service is planned with his ashes to be spread in his beloved Mississippi River.
