After more than 105 years, the Farmers Co-op in Wright is now for sale. It was a difficult decision for the board of directors, but future plans need to be made. The store is still up and running as usual, but things may change if a buyer steps forward or a new manager can be hired. Just stop in the store if you need more information, and remember to shop locally. Our community depends on it.

The Young Old Timers group will meet at the Cardinal Court at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 10. RSVP with Lindsay Lally at 218-644-3739 or 218-451-8006.

Ruby’s Pantry is at the Cromwell Pavilion 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

The Bethlehem Lutheran church women will have their Christmas bazaar 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec 14. This will be their last sale before the church closes, so clean out those Christmas, fall, and holiday items to donate to this sale.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Cromwell City Hall to hear your kids’ Christmas wishes and to hand out treats from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 14.

The elementary school Christmas program begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 16. The high school program is at 6 p.m. Dec. 17.

There will be no school Dec. 23 through Jan. 1.

Patricia Ann Lass, 80, of Cromwell, passed away Nov. 23 at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. Patty was born in 1944 to Frank and Edna Colwell in Duluth. She attended a one-room schoolhouse near Tamarack. She had three children with her first husband, James Lund, and spent her later years married to Tom Lass. Services were held Dec. 2 at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home.
