Firefighter's moustache is a winner

Greg White describes himself as a father, husband, firefighter, outdoorsman and mental health advocate. Now the Cloquet Area Fire District firefighter can add the title of "champ" to the list, after being crowned winner of the 'Stache Salt moustache competition and title of "2024 Saltiest 'Stache of the Year" last week.

Sponsored by 'Stache Salt, the monthlong online competition included a number of judges challenges to get to the Top 10. From that point, it was a popularity contest, with the top vote getter winning it all. After a number of lead changes, the victor was White.

In an online interview following the announcement, the firefighter said he was still in shock.

"It was a battle, man. I was stressed," he said.

For his troubles, White will receive a substantial prize package and eventually his own specially blended moustache wax. He's hoping to make it an outdoors scent.

While he plans to just take time to enjoy his family over the holiday season, White said he might attempt to be the first person to win the title two years in a row.

"Let's go for it," he said in the Instagram 'Stache Salt interview.
