Obituary: Elaine Finnila

Elaine Margaret (Lindgren) Finnila, 82, of Cloquet passed peacefully into heaven with family at her side in her home on Dec. 4, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. She taught her family the meaning of Sisu strength.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Elaine, a woman of strong faith, passed this faith to her children as a priceless inheritance from God. A gracious hostess, she brought family together in the warmest and most loving manner. Elaine will be remembered and missed dearly.

Those surviving Elaine are her husband, Allan Finnila; daughter, Lori (Tom) Morris; sons, Mark (Mary) Finnila and Cory (Stephanie) Finnila; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Mohler; and brother, Allen Lindgren.

Elaine's parents, Henry and Lillian Lindgren, preceded her in death.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
