A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
Janice Grangruth of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away Dec. 25, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in Duluth. Christmas Eve was her favorite holiday; it was only fitting that she spent this last holiday season surrounded by her whole family.
Janice had many joys over the years - summers at the cabin, camping with family, ceramics, crocheting, watching old westerns, going to the casino (especially if her hands were itching because that meant the big bucks), card games, and enjoying various pets. But her greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she was the happiest when they were around. Feisty and sassy in nature, she helped raise strong and lively generations. Each with their own special memory of Janice. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement.
Janice was preceded in death by multiple beloved siblings. She is survived by her husband, William Grangruth; daughters, Lynn (Michael) Anderson, Lisa (Duane) Ziebarth, and LeAnn Hanson; son, Lance (Shawna) Grangruth; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Janice will be held Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Nelson Funeral Care from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Inurnment service will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. To leave an online condolence for the family, visit http://www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
