Lois J. Kolodge, 92, of Cloquet passed away Jan. 1, 2025, at Evergreen Knoll. The youngest of six children, she was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Scanlon to P.D. and Donna Edwards, Lois was a 1950 graduate of Cloquet High School. She was married to Raymond "Reese" Kolodge in 1953, and they made their home in Cloquet until his death in 1996.
Lois was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who always found time to spend with her family. She was known for baking great oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. She was a very active walker and had a group of friends that walked almost every day. She even jumped rope into her 80s.
Lois was a member of the former St. Casimir's Catholic Church and was on the parish council. She attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of the parish choir and the St. Casimir's Circle. She was also a longtime member of the Lois Club.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her five siblings. She is survived by her sons, Kerry (Anne) Kolodge and Steve (Amy) Kolodge; nine grandchildren, Patrick (Shannon) Kolodge, Stephanie (Travis) Krause, Paul (Katie) Kolodge, Noah Kolodge, Reese Kolodge (Elle), Kade Kolodge, Garrett (Jayden) Pollard, Camden Pollard and Aydann Pollard; four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Lauryn, Parker and Anna Kolodge; special nieces, Cheryl Quilling and Vicki Watson; as well as special friends, Shirley Moretto, Lois Johnson and Brenda Felten.
Lois' family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Knoll and St. Croix Hospice for the excellent care she received while a resident there.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet, followed by a lunch in the church social hall. An inurnment service will follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
