Well, it's over. Yes, Bethlehem Lutheran in Wright officially closed on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at a worship and holy closure service. Around 200 folks from far and wide were in attendance to bid a fond farewell to this 112-year-old community of worshippers, including past pastors Valerie Brown and Deb-Hanson-Carlson, and Gayle Nieman, wife of the late Ed Nieman.

We are so thankful for all who organized and participated in this special service. I'm hoping to send in some memories in special news releases in the future.

The members of Bethlehem are encouraged to attend services in Bethany in Cromwell from now on. Worship in Bethany will begin at 9 a.m., which is one half-hour earlier than in the past year.

There was a special worship and memorial service at the Cardinal Court Monday, Jan. 27. The Villa Court honored the memories of those who passed away the past six months.

The Cromwell-Wright homecoming is today, Friday, Jan. 31. Check the school's website for details.

The first Wrong Days meeting will be held Feb. 4 at the Senior Center, with food at 5 p.m. and the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Come with your thoughts and ideas.

Congratulations to my sister, Margaret Taylor, on retiring from her business, Wood Magic, in Hermantown. She is liquidating all items at auction starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the store at 5105 Miller Trunk Highway.
